SADIQ BEY: BIO
Sadiq Bey is a performance poet, percussionist, essayist and recording artist
living and working in New York and Rome. His work has appeared in print,
electronic and recorded media for over twenty years.
He was the founding editor of CityArts Quarterly magazine and was co-founder
and Artistic Director of the African World Festival in Detroit, Michigan.
He has received numerous grants and awards for his WRITlarge project, which
is concerned with the poem as object in relation to architecture, sculpture
and permanent, three dimensional media.
It is a life-time project against the new wave of illiteracy.
He has published in many anthologies, quarterlies and exhibition catalogs
too numerous to mention here.
He has performed and/or recorded with Geri Allen, Dance Theatre of Harlem,
the Fifth Dimension, Eartha Kitt, Brandon Ross, the Mbase Group, Uri Caine
and Don Byron among many others in the Jazz, Classical and Rock idioms in
the spirit of the avant-garde, however, his preference is the live performance
because of its immediacy and direct connection with the listener.
Sadiq believes that WORD is a living thing, a process, that never ends.
DETLEF GÜNTHER: BIO
Detlef Günther, founder, painter andmulti-media artist living andworking
in Berlin.He studied sciences of communication and fine arts in Munich and
Berlin. He has had solo and group exhibitions in Germany, Poland, Netherlands
and Spain. His paintings and his multi-media work focusses on the processes
of human perception.
Since 1992 he has worked on interactive multi-media projects for single
and multi-user.
Readings from the Dead, Black Screen, Under the Influence, Remembraneand
Dürerare some of his concepts using the new media for real spaces.
1997 he was the founder and managing director of the twosuns media development
GmbH developing the Interactive Environment Processing Software encluedTM
in combination with a 3d-motion Tracking system. Twopatents evolved out
of this project. In 2002 he founded twosuns studios.
Detlef believes that perception is a process of interaction. Every thought,
every sensory stimulation, generates its own response and creates a new
reality. That which is perceived is in a constant state of flux, its alteration
dependent upon context, new information and knowledge. At the same time,
the object under scrutiny is altered by the amount of attention paid to
it.
MARTIN KNUESEL: BIO
Martin Knuesel, architect and artist, living in Berlin. He has worked in
Bern, Berlin and New York, the latter at Vito Acconci studios. His digital
photocollage work is the result of his visual diaries conceived while travelling
through Europe and the United States. Urban music plays a major role in
the development of his images.
He has completed three workgroups:
Stadt In Uns (aquatint). Cut and Copy(digital photocollage) and Masques(digital
photocollage).
